AzRusTrans Company has great hopes on this route. Putting Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway into operation will lead to the increase of volume of transit cargos to be transported through Azerbaijan. It was informed by Javid Guliyev, General Director of "AzRusTrans" Company. According to J.Guliyev, who has great hopes for this route, this railway will be favourable enough for the Central Asian countries that supply chemical and food products to Europe, as well as for large countries such as Russia. "For example, Uzbekistan delivers polymer products to Europe through Novorossiysk and Riga ports. However, Baku-Tbilisi-Kars is more efficient than such routes. Currently, our route consists of two - the Caspian and Black seas directions. However, after putting BTK into operation, goods will be delivered through the Caspian Sea with BTK. Moreover, urea chemical product of Turkmenistan may be exported via this line. Furthermore, Russia has grain that demand comprises of 1 million tons. Turkey processing such grain, realizes them in Iraq and Syria markets like a finished product. I think that BTK potential is great. Efficient route will lead to the increase of the volume of transit cargos", - added J.Guliyev.
